December 21st - going to texas
Because our son and his family live in Texas, we go there to spend christmas with them. Kids need to be home to be able to open their presents in their pajamas!! We miss spending time with our extended family in California, but want to enjoy as much as we can time with our grandchildren. I'm not a big fan of flying, altho my son loves it!!, but it is the quickest way to go visit with our grandkids....so, tomorrow morning, bright [well, maybe not so bright] but early!!! we go to the burbank airport for our flight to texas. Merry Christmas!!

December 1st
Can't believe the year is almost gone...AGAIN...I turned 58 this year and it just doesn't seem possible. Too many days gone by. Which days will stand out for HIM and which days are completely lost and not used for HIS glory. Only when I get to heaven will I know.
Looking forward to seeing our grandkids and son and daughter in "LOVE" for Christmas. Miss them all so much. Only get 8 days, which will NOT be enough, but at least we will have fun with the days that are provided.

Happy Thanksgiving
Yes, I can't believe where the year has gone...my, so quickly. But here it is almost turkey day!! Will be with friends and eating in a restaurant. Different for us. Only one other time did we eat in a restaurant.
Our daughter has gone on an overseas study time with her college and returned the few days before thanksgiving. we were in a hotel, so going out was the only choice. It was not the same, and as it was the first time we had done that, seemed weird.
It will be interesting to see how this time fairs!
Happy Thanksgiving and don't forget to thank our Heavenly Father for HIS provisions and grace, mercy, and mostly HIS LOVE.

Life lessons...
There have been several people that have passed away in the last few days. A friend, 78 years old, precious saint, cheerful, loving woman of God. The celebration of her life was so Christ centered and honoring. She would have been embrassed, but she served her Lord well. I am sure she hear "Well done, my good and faithful servant" from her Lord.
Then Nicole Greene, 33 years old, precious young lady, so mature in the Lord. Now out of pain and suffering, worshiping her Lord and savior, in the arms of Jesus.
and little Malachi, a 3 year old leukima patient, Don and Geogiatte's grandson. now in the Arms of Jesus and out of much pain and suffering.
Must remember to pray for these families as they adjust to life without their loved ones.

So, this has been an awful week. I got a bad cold about 6 days ago, my hubby got it about 4 days ago, and we are both coughing still!! Of course, with the swine flu going around, I was a little anxious. First think I did was check all the web sites for symtoms....no, we don't have the swine flu!! neither of us have a temp at all. Just runny noses and coughing!!! Hope it is over soon!!!

Back to reality
Well, guessing postings take more time than I thought. Now I know why a few of the blogs I follow are not updated every day. Life seems to get in the way!!! haha
Actually, we went on a road trip for our vacation this year. it was more fun than we thought. Went to visit our new grandchild, Brooke, in Texas. Her brothers were very fun to play with and spoil. Parker had his 3rd birthday while we were there and that was very fun. Plus we went for our "traditional" breakfast at the Gaylord.
after 8 days, we were "on the road again" working our way towards Colorado to visit with friends. Dean and Rita took us out for our anniversary. wow, doesn't seem possible that we have been married 36 years!! where did the time go!!
after 2 days, off we went again. we decided to visit Mount Rushmore. pretty impressive. then to Yellowstone. only had one day there because of the lack of time, but what a day!! so many things to see and NOT enough time!!! But it was great to be able to see "old faithful".
then home 3 days later. WOW!!! lots of driving!! but we had a great time, glad we did it, but glad to be home....well...sort of....
when we got home, several things happened...our computer got a bad virus, our sceptic tank needed emptying and one toilet decided to not work. then on top of that [as if that was not enough!!] ANTS!!! did they all come to visit us!!!
but we laughed and said "God has a sense of humor, we didn't have any problems on our trip, so HE wanted us to remember that sometimes there are "bumps" along the road of life" everything was put back into order in due time and we are again living "reality" one day at a time.
Thanking HIM for the beautiful things in life HE has given us to enjoy!!
I'll post some pictures soon.

Visiting with relatives
Today I had the opportunity to visit with my niece, Kristi, and her two girls, Katrina & Natasha.
Kristi recently remodeled her kitchen and I thought today would be a good day to go see it. She has a huge island now and it really opened up the space. I liked what they have done. Natasha was so cute, she got some new puppets, 4 of them, and shared them with me. Their names are, Cammy [camouflaged green turtle] Skyler [a blue iguana] Sunshine [yellow & orange lizard] and Greeny [dark green lizard]. She did a little puppet show in the front room behind the couch. It was cute. Katrina is 14 years old now. Almost as tall as me!!! Pretty girl. She played the piano a little bit. She's good.
Then we went to the Simi Valley Mall for lunch. Went to CPK [California Pizza Kitchen] Had a good time talking with Kristi about what they are doing in life. Sounds like they are really involved with their church in community outreach. She is still homeschooling the girls. Then we went to Claire's, as Katrina had a gift certificate to spend. It was fun walking around the store and trying on the head bands and boa's and just laughing about some of the cute stuff they had. I hope someday, I'll be able to take Brooke there and have fun. They had some cute little shoes, earrings, nail polish, etc, headbands, etc, etc....really girly stuff!!! Will have to look for someplace to take the boys too!! Anyway, when it came time to leave, as the girls had piano lessons they had to get home for, Natasha and Kristi ran back inside. When they came out, miss Natasha gave me a present!! A cute little panda to go on one of my keys!! So sweet!!! Every time I see it, it will remind me of this day!!! Thank you Natasha, Katrina and Kristi, for sharing a part of your day with Auntie!!! Love you lots!!!

The Beginning
What in the world am I doing in the blogging world!! Like I have anything to "enlighten" my world with. Not sure why I am starting this blog. Guess I could share pictures of my grandchildren or share news with my family. Maybe I'll just use it to post my quilts. No, not sure what, but we'll see what happens. So, Hello Blog Land!! May it be a blessed day for all!
