April Blessings

Got to spend 2 weeks helping our son's family. Love them!!!

I made this afghan for our grand-daughter when she was a little baby. She sleeps with it every night.

Made this quilt for her for Easter. She wraps her babies in it and carries it around. Love that my grandkids enjoy gifts made by grandma!!!

Our grandson, Parker, enjoys playing baseball.  He's pretty good too!!

Our grandson, Conner, enjoys soccer, but I didn't get a picture of him playing.  He enjoys playing his video games as well as reading.

We are excited to meet another grandchild about Thanksgiving time.  So enjoy our grandkids!!!

Quilts For Special People

I have been trying to make quilts for each of my great-niece's or nephew's since they were born. Some got their's before thier first birthday's, others had to wait. 7 down and 5 to go, with 1 in the "oven". There might be more in the future!!! Enjoying giving them each a "special" gift from their great-auntie!!!

This is Camryn, one of my great-niece's. She loves the color yellow and elephants. The backing is a really soft plush material. She loved getting it.

This is her brother, Wyatt. Made this quilt just for him. So glad he likes it.

A perfect quilt for him!! Loved finding the cute little cowboy & cowgirl motiff!!

Visiting in Texas

I got to babysit my precious grandchildren for 5 days while their parents took a short vacation to celebrate my daughter in law's birthday. What a fun time. Could not have done it without the help of my parents!! Raising children is definitely for the young!! Such a busy schedule!! Then had a few extra days to spend with the "adult" kids!! My poor hubby was unable to come, has been working hard, income tax season is almost over and he is ready for it to end and to have me home again!! Have to admit, I'm pretty homesick too. I'll miss the little ones and it will be several months before we will be with them again. Love them so much!!!

Miss Brooke liked the puppy dog I brought her.

Conner was a big help.

Parker enjoys playing the "wii" as much has his daddy.

Income Tax Season 2011

So, another year of being an income tax "widow"!! Poor hubby has to work lots of hours to get those taxes done by April 15th. When we were raising our children, it wasn't too bad, I had company. But since our children have grown and move to their own homes, in other states, I spend lots of days and HOURS by myself. Don't like it one bit!!! But I do have my Precept Bible Study to keep me busy as well as playing golf with a friend. YUP, can't believe it, but I am playing golf!!! It's good exercise, I get to be with my dear friend, and it's outside, so it's not a bad way to spend time. Praying for another year to go "quickly"...

My Dad's Quilt

My dad eats peppers. Likes them really hot. So, while on vacation, I found this cute quilt shop in Taos, New Mexico. They had all these wonderful fabrics with, what else, chili peppers!! So fun!! One had fire coming off a pepper. Thought of my dad, so purchased some and made a quilt for him.

Here is the front:

This one shows the back:

I love the flaming peppers!! You can click on the pictures to see a close up of the fabric. It was a fun easy quilt that he will enjoy while warming his legs during the cold weather.
